To Vax or Not to Vax: The Question Only a Fool Would Ask

Welcome to the 21st century! Where bacteria and viruses have levelled up like villainous RPG bosses, and somehow, we’re still battling the same old diseases. Yet, some people—bless their misguided hearts—are out here acting like medieval medicine was the peak of human health.

Let’s talk about vaccines, shall we? Specifically, the COVID vaccine—the one that supposedly appeared "too fast," as if science didn’t just assemble the Avengers of epidemiology to work on it. Yeah, instead of ten scientists, we had thousands racing against time, like a global speed-run to save lives. If that sounds suspicious to you, maybe reevaluate how fast your favourite app pushes an update when a bug needs fixing. Same logic, just fewer emojis.

But What About the Children?

Skipping vaccines for kids isn’t just a bold gamble—it’s practically an open invitation for diseases to RSVP to their immune systems. Want to know how many preventable illnesses unvaccinated kids are exposed to? A lot—because modern medicine exists for a reason. It’s not just about personal health either. When people opt out, they create breeding grounds for viruses to evolve and get stronger, like some dystopian sequel that nobody asked for.

And let’s talk about responsibility: If you can't take care of yourself enough to make medically sound choices, why are you making them for children? You wouldn’t let a toddler drive a car, so why put their health in the hands of someone who thinks a TikTok deep dive counts as scientific research?

The "Bad Science" Brigade

Now, I get it—some folks just don’t "trust the science." Which is ironic, considering that modern medicine is the only reason they’re around to be sceptical in the first place. Science has cured plagues, eradicated diseases, and extended life expectancy by decades. But somehow, vaccine scepticism is the hill people want to die on—literally.

And speaking of wild theories, can we take a moment for the infamous "microchips in vaccines" conspiracy? Look, if governments wanted to track you, they wouldn’t bother with an injection—they’d check your phone’s location history, your shopping habits, or the five hours you spend watching conspiracy videos on YouTube. Also, let’s be real—the world doesn’t have the budget to mass-produce millions of microscopic tracking devices. This isn’t a sci-fi thriller, its real life, and honestly, if there was an actual conspiracy, do you really think you would be the one to uncover it?

The Bottom Line

Vaccines save lives. They’ve done it for centuries, they continue to do it now, and they will keep doing it whether or not someone wants to believe in them. So, if you’re still on the fence, maybe it’s time to trade the tinfoil hat for some actual research. Because the next pandemic? That’s not something any of us want to experience again.
